The Massa Shopping Center, opened on July 11, 1995, still now represents the strongest trade reality in the province of Massa Carrara. The area interested goes from La Spezia to Viareggio with a population of more than 500.000 inhabitants. It registers a very good affluence throughout the year which doubles during Summer thanks to its position close to the famous Versilia beaches. The Shopping Centre occupies an area of about 65.000 sqm of which 24.000 are covered. There is a superstore of the Carrefour chain, GS Group, of about 12.000 sqm and about 40 specialized shops among which the Municipal Drug Store and for the catering, Autogrill. The Shopping Center boasts a mall enriched by the famous marble of Carrara making it an elegant and precious meeting point and attraction both for local residents and for the many tourists taking advantage of the three large car parks with more than 2.000 car places as well as of the wonderful sight on the Apuane Alps.

In 2007, after the restyling of the centre interiors, also the name of the centre changed, from Centro Commerciale Massa to Centro Commerciale Mare e Monti, and a new visual was created for the occasion.
